Kimmy
Kimmy was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2005, she enrolled as a student at Hope College. Certain she wanted to be school teacher, Kimmy left Hope College with a Physical Education & English Education degree. During her four years of schooling, Kimmy also competed in both basketball and soccer at the intercollegiate level, winning a national championship with the basketball program in 2006.
She moved to the south after graduating from college in 2009 and has spent her first six years living here in the Lake Norman area, teaching English to students at Pine Lake Preparatory. In addition to teaching, she also coached the varsity girls’ soccer and varsity girls’ basketball teams at Pine Lake Preparatory. Coaching created an opportunity for Kimmy to build two successful sports programs from the ground up, and ultimately is what sparked her interest in moving into the fitness industry.
Kimmy joined the 15 to Fit Pilates, Barre & Fitness family in July 2015, and began working as an instructor at the studio. Kimmy says, “This transition in my career has been an absolute blast, and I thoroughly enjoy working with our clients. What I have most enjoyed about teaching Pilates is witnessing the growth that so many of our clients achieve in such a short amount of time. Watching as a client steadily improves, and ultimately masters an exercise is very rewarding. I continue to find excitement in this new adventure and am committed to improving the health and wellness of each of the individuals who decide to take the plunge into the world of Pilates!”
