Catherine Spohn, 15 to Fit Method™ Instructor
Catherine grew up in Upstate New York where she competitively swam throughout her childhood and adolescence. At 18, she played rugby for one season as the 8-man and had a blast with the team (but was overall subpar at the sport), but still barely knew how to play by the time the season was over. She knew the cold weather wasn’t for her, and promptly moved to Sarasota, Florida with her mom and sister once she graduated high school.
To continue her education, she attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She was missing the sporty aspect of her past, so she decided to take up yoga, and she fell in love with its mental and physical benefits. While she was living in Tallahassee as a college student, she obtained her RYT-200 yoga instructor certification.
She moved back to Sarasota after graduating from FSU, where she worked a variety of jobs, including Lululemon educator, yoga teacher, bartender, and fine dining server. Although she misses the beach and constant Vitamin D, she does not miss the frizzy hair that came with it.
In her spare time, she likes to attend music festivals, hang out with friends, go hiking, longboard, spend time with her mischievous cat, sleep, boat and jetski, and cook healthy food.
Catherine discovered Pilates during the coronavirus quarantine, where she stumbled upon many online mat Pilates videos, both on YouTube and BeachBody on Demand. She discovered reformer Pilates at 15 to Fit, and hasn’t looked back since! She loves that Pilates both strengthens and lengthens the body–like yoga, there is a large focus on mindful movement. She is excited to spread her love for this form of workout as an instructor!
