David Holland, a native of Statesville, NC, joins 15toFit  as a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor after teaching Pilates in NYC for the last 6 years.  A life long athlete and artist, David was an all-conference hurdler in high school and while attending the NC School of the Arts for drama saw dancers leaping across stages and became hooked on dance. As a freshman attending the University of Southern California David began intensive training in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance and soon started working in Los Angeles – the beginning of his career as  professional dancer.  As a professional dancer, his varied career spanned over 16 years and ranged from over the top Las Vegas shows to performances in operas, ballets and modern dance companies across the country and in locals as diverse as Las Vegas, Guam, Europe, and  South Korea.

Those years of dancing and training lead to a deep appreciation of physical conditioning and in Pilates David found increased strength, flexibility, and control. Coupled with his love of movement and teaching, David was inspired to go deeper into the Pilates method and gained his Pilates Certification through Smart Workout in NYC in 2012. He continued his apparatus training through Balanced Body Inc and continues to further his education by attending their training sessions and conferences annually.  Utilizing this knowledge, his vast experience with coaching differing body types and conditions, as well as his “dancer’s eye” for detail and placement David seeks to break down movement into terms that anyone can understand, guiding clients to find their deeper mind body connection. As a former dancer he often incorporates creative variations in his teaching to appropriately challenge clients at all levels, keeping the workout  fun yet mindful, fresh, and lively.

“I look forward to all I’ll learn on this new adventure and sharing all I have to enrich the wonderful community at 15toFit! Thanks for being so welcoming and see you in the studio! All the best!”
